The Challenge
A request was made by The Ministry of Defence (MoD) Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) agency to to carry out an independent review as regards compliance with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) for the new Poseidon P8 Hangar facility at RAF Lossiemouth.
The Solution Provided
Using supplied information and characteristics of proposed fuels and other substances, we were able to produce a DSEAR RA detailing the storage and handling requirements, along with HAC calculations and drawings to support the development of the design. Verification is also built in to the process and in due course we will be reviewing as-built information and the facility prior to sign-off for operation, as required under DSEAR Reg 7 clause 4.
