The Challenge
Linx Printing Technologies operates two sites in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, and they both required DSEAR visits and RAs in 2017 and early 2018.
The new site produces label printing machines, and the existing site produces the printing inks and cleaners. Both sites store and handle significant inventory of H225 highly flammable liquids.
The Solution Provided
Resulting in two separate visits and reports, opportunities for improvement around ventilation, prevention of potentially explosive atmospheres, avoidance of ignition sources, as well as protective measures, including technical and organisational aspects were identified.
Included in the reports, Hazardous Area Classification drawings were produced along with prioritised recommendations for inclusion into corrective action budgets going forward.
