The Challenge
Cardium Products were constructing a new facility near Wakefield to produce their Freaks of Nature range of premium chilled desserts, and required assistance with DSEAR as part of their planning for safe operation from the outset.
The site was to handle dry and liquid ingredients in sufficient quantity to require technical and organisational preventative and protective measures.
The Solution Provided
We were engaged at planning stage and were able to give advice on storage, handling, ventilation and equipment specifications necessary to satisfy HSE guidance for powder and flammable liquid usage.
Prior to the plant being placed into operation a verification visit was made as required under DSEAR Regulation 7 Clause 4. The plant is now in use and operating safely.
