The Challenge
BAE Systems is constructing a new airfield facility at Walney Island near Barrow-in Furness, and required an independent DSEAR RA as part of the RIBA design process. We were able to respond quickly to the customer’s brief and provide timely guidance.
The Solution Provided
Using supplied information and characteristics of proposed fuels and other substances, we were able to produce a DSEAR RA detailing the storage and handling requirements, along with HAC calculations and drawings to support the development of the design. Verification is also built in to the process and in due course we will be reviewing as-built information and the facility prior to sign-off for operation, as required under DSEAR Reg 7 clause 4.
